TERMS OF PAYMENT
On www.eastpak.com/shop/uk, we accept the following methods of payment : Maestro, Solo, Visa and Mastercard. All on-line transactions are processed using a secure server. Orders will not be accepted until payment is authorised by your bank.
SECURITY CODE / ISSUE NUMBER
Card validation data are an additional security feature with the aim to reduce fraud. Entry of the card number and correct card validation data is deemed as proof that its rightful owner has used the credit card.
Security code (Visa and MasterCard)
Visa and MasterCard print these data on the card. Also called card verification value (CVV) or card validation code (CVC), the cryptogram is made of the 3 digits which are at the back of all Visa cards and MasterCards.
* For VISA : The card verification value (CVV) is the last three digits of the credit card number that are printed on the signature panel (the stripe with the holder's signature) on the back side of your card.
* For MasterCard : The card verification code (CVC) is the last three digits of the credit card number that is printed on the signature panel (the stripe with the holder's signature) on the back side of your card.
Issue Number (Maestro cards and Solo cards)
Not all maestro and Solo cards have an issue number. Count the number of digits in the main card number (across the centre of the card). If it is 16 digits, there is no issue number. If it is longer, there is. If it has an issue number it will be on the front of the card, near the expiry date. It will simply say 'issue' followed by a one or two digit number. If there is not an issue number, you will need to provide the 'valid from' date instead.
SECURITY
To ensure payment security, we utilize industry standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption when accepting your credit card information during the online checkout process. In addition, we utilize the same encryption standard when transferring your credit card data to our internal fulfilment system. To further enhance our security measures, our fulfilment system is not accessible via the Internet and we delete from our web site database all credit card information within 24 hours of receipt.
ABOUT SSL ENCRYPTION
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a method by which information transmitted across the Internet is scrambled to the point where it's virtually indecipherable by anyone who should intercept the data before it reaches its destination. Most reputable online stores make use of SSL encryption to request credit card information and other sensitive data from their customers. Web pages where SSL encryption is activated are typically identified by a lock or key symbol displayed somewhere in your browser. Refer to your browser's documentation for the specific symbol and location.
